The Centre Wellington Chamber of Commerce (CWCC) mission is “Helping Businesses Succeed!”
It is a member-driven organization that promotes business growth through networking and educational opportunities and acts as an information resource for local business.
The chamber is a volunteer organization supported by over 350 local business and professional people.
By participating in the CWCC members are helping to make Centre Wellington a more rewarding place to live, work and play, officials say.
Through education, the CWCC helps members learn various operational best practices for their companies and how to best deal with their customers. Education ensures that members deliver the best service possible to their clients. Be it ethics, responsibility, financial strength, integrity or employee care, the CWCC helps to build business.
Networking can result in new partnerships, working arrangements, and growth. Political lobbying helps to keep governments, at all levels, aware of what is happening in “the real world.” By working with governments, the CWCC helps to provide information that can influence business related policies.
People can get involved by joining one of the active committees as a member or by become involved as a sponsor for chamber events. All participation is valued.
The CWCC strongly believes that a strong community fosters a strong business environment. There needs to be a balance between business and community. Chamber officials say they contribute to that balance through the CWCC’s production of its award winning “Awards of Excellence” event to recognize contributions of businesses, individuals and groups. Other events supporting a strong community are ribbon cuttings, business town halls, Christmas party, golf tournament, and mayor’s breakfast.
